New, replica sash windows to restore a Georgian house to it's original glory

Our client had recently bought a period Georgian house as their family home. They needed to do quite a bit of restoration and they wanted to retain as many of the original features as possible.

We were asked to restore their Georgian sash windows to their original glory, but they also wanted the benefit of insulated windows to ensure their family home would be warm and comfortable during our chilly winter days!

Sadly, the original sash windows had been replaced with aluminium windows at some point over the years. Some of the shutters and architraves were missing and others had been neglected for so many years they were past the point of repair.

We began by making new, bespoke sash windows and frames that were identical to the windows that had originally been in the house, and also included some 8 over 8 sash windows. We used BENGglas/Landvac vacuum insulated glass to ensure their family would be lovely and warm during the winter months.

When we called back to take some photos, our very happy clients were raving about the improved warmth of their home thanks to their new sash windows!
